Moonlight Magic 2025 - Warsaw, NY

Taking place in the Village of Warsaw, this amazing annual event that celebrates the season, shopping local, and our community!
Enjoy a day full of festive fun with store and restaurant specials, contests, and a holiday-themed fire parade with a warming fire. The chili contest kicks off at 4:30 pm, with the main events running from 5 pm to 9 pm. Plus, merchant sales and other activities from 9 am to 9 pm—don’t miss out!

Christmas in Mount Morris
Mark your calendar for Christmas Magic in Mount Morris on Saturday, December 6th! Join us for a full day of holiday events, including carriage rides, holiday crafts, a Grinch story hour, a parade, tree lighting, and visits from Santa, of course! Genesee Valley Hunt Races
The Genesee Valley Hunt Races is a great way for the entire family to spend the day in a beautiful outdoor setting just north of Geneseo, NY. The Hunt Races have been hosted here for over 125 years, and some of the finest steeplechase trainers on the eastern seaboard bring their horses here to compete for over $30,000 in prize money. Trainers, owners, and jockeys agree that the Genesee Valley Hunt Races are one of the season’s most anticipated meets.

Glory Days

Genesee Valley Birding Cup
Letchworth State Park (Genesee)
Our annual birdathon to celebrate the unique habitats of the Genesee Valley and the birds that these habitats support. Gather a team or work alone to count as many birds as possible within the Genesee River watershed in 24 hours. Travel anywhere you'd like; birders may visit any public space within the Genesee River watershed. All are welcome whether you are a beginner or a pro! A final tally and potluck celebration will be held at the Genesee County Park & Forest Interpretive Center at 6pm. The team or individual that counts the most bird species will win a prize. Please bring a dish to pass and your birding highlights from the day! Registration required by calling 585-344-1122. In partnership with the Humphrey Nature Center at Letchworth State Park and the Genesee County Park & Forest Interpretive Center.

Letchworth State Park B.O.S Bird Tour
Carpool through the park, making various stops and short hikes along the way, with a lunch stop along the river. Co-sponsored by the Buffalo Ornithological Society. Meet at Humphrey Nature Center. Will carpool.

Balloons Over Letchworth
A hot air balloon ride is both a serene and exhilarating experience that offers a unique perspective of the world from above. Balloons Over Letchworth offers spectacular hot-air balloon rides over Letchworth State Park. We are the exclusive operator within the Park. Flying season is May 1 through October 31. Now owned and operated by Liberty Balloon Co.
Letchworth State Park PLANT & WILDFLOWER WALK: Trout Pond
Become more familiar with our many native wildflowers and the role of their surroundings, including the other plants and animals in their daily lives. Enjoy the fascinating variation in floral structure and folklore. Enjoy the transition of wildflowers along secondary forests and old growth woods. Meet at Trout Pond. (1 mile or more)

Catch the flavor of the middle Genesee Valley in cider and stories. Mary Jemison's legendary land negotiations, Monashasha's tragic leap from Middle Falls, the shadowy Torture Tree... all tales are told and examined with a historian's eye. Learn the process of maple sugaring from sap to syrup. Morning walks at 10:00am discuss the history of maple sugaring and wildlife of the sugaring woods. To learn how present-day maple syrup is made, the sugarhouse will be open from 10:00am-12:30pm. There will be syrup samples! Meet at Humphrey Nature Center.

Winter Trek: Highbanks Canyon
These intermediate to difficult level hikes are for those who enjoy the thrill of a more exploratory nature walk. Outings visit farther to reach places within the park. Bring a lunch and be prepared for the weather during the several hour trek. Scenic views of the park's northern most canyon. (4 miles). Meet at camper registration building just inside the Perry entrance (7957 Schenck Road, Perry, NY).
