Learn the process of maple sugaring from sap to syrup. Morning walks at 10:00am discuss the history of maple sugaring, maple tree identification and wildlife of the sugar bush. Continual demonstrations of three different maple sugaring techniques will be going on, including Haudenosaunee stone boiling, iron pot fire pit boiling, and the use of a modern evaporator. Hourly walks led by environmental educators will highlight maple tree identification, how to tap a tree, sap collecting and more! Pancake breakfasts will be available for purchase thanks to the Friends of Letchworth State Park from 10:00am-1:00pm each day.

Find a sugar maple tree and make maple syrup! Home Ecologists is an outing series designed for homeschool students. Each topic is offered twice per month. Each outing is open to all ages with the first outing of the month targeting introductory level learning and the second outing targeting middle/higher level learning. Valentines Day Snowshoe Adventure at Letchworth State Park
Open to lovers of all kinds...of each other, of nature. This is an epic snowshoe through the part of the park that closes to cars, but stays open to hikers. Bring a warm beverage to stay cozy! The Genesee Valley Hunt Races is a great way for the entire family to spend the day in a beautiful outdoor setting just north of Geneseo, NY. Genesee Valley Birding Cup
Letchworth State Park (Genesee)
Our annual birdathon to celebrate the unique habitats of the Genesee Valley and the birds that these habitats support. Gather a team or work alone to count as many birds as possible within the Genesee River watershed in 24 hours. Travel anywhere you'd like; birders may visit any public space within the Genesee River watershed. All are welcome whether you are a beginner or a pro! A final tally and potluck celebration will be held at the Genesee County Park & Forest Interpretive Center at 6pm. The team or individual that counts the most bird species will win a prize. Please bring a dish to pass and your birding highlights from the day! Registration required by calling 585-344-1122. Balloons Over Letchworth
A hot air balloon ride is both a serene and exhilarating experience that offers a unique perspective of the world from above. Balloons Over Letchworth offers spectacular hot-air balloon rides over Letchworth State Park. We are the exclusive operator within the Park. Flying season is May 1 through October 31. Now owned and operated by Liberty Balloon Co.
